  Details :- HF601 was hit by flak and crashed in the sea south of Le Conquet near to where a memorial dedicated to the crew stands today.
     
  34 aircraft detailed to go Mine Laying around French Ports and the Frisians.

  Four of the crew are buried in Le Conquet Communal Cemetery.
  F/O Darbyshire is commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial.
   
  W/C Owen was an officer on attachment from Group Headquarters.
  W/C Owen was MID on 24/09/1941.
