  Details :- Shortly after bombing HX233 was attacked by a night-fighter at 19,000ft and was partially abandoned. The aircraft coming down at Hirschfelde, Germany (approx 18 miles North-East of Berlin) after exploding in the air.
                 
  677 aircraft including 241 Halifax detailed on the mission, 26 Halifax aircraft were lost including HX233, HX294 and HX345 from 466 Squadron.
   
  Those of the crew who died are buried in the Berlin 1939 - 1945 War Cemetery.
